Backlash for bobrisky for insulting Odunlade Adekola

Nigerian cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky may have irrevocably crossed the line with many Yoruba actors for publicly insulting one of their idols in the person of Odunlade Adekola, after the gangling actor took some swipes at the male Barbie for being a male trying to pass himself off as a female.
In a viral video, Odunlade had called out Bobrisky, making a mockery of his celebrated lifestyle as a male trying to live his life as a female. In his usual comical manner, the actor made all sorts of  gestures to mimic Bobrisky’s mannerisms and joking that the cross dresser has truly brought to fore the mantra that whatever a woman can do a man can do better.

Known for his temper tantrums, the Ogun State-born cross dresser wasted no time in replying the actor, calling him names and hurling all sorts of insults at him.

His post: “This man in this video is a Yoruba actor with empty brain like fish net. Let me start  from when this thing with a wide mouth like female she-goat got admission at the University of Lagos in old age. I was in my final year in school then when this brother got admitted to UNILAG  for adult learning. Now the senseless idiot don hear small English nobody will hear word again. Now bros, let me send you back to that Abeokuta you live. You are talking about Bobrisky who dresses like a female?have you finished training all your bastard children your workers have for you secretly? Next time try and put more effort in your career instead of you coming out like grown ape to pull other people’s hustle down. I repeat 2019 if you don’t mind your business I will show you road to your village.”

In what seems like a tidal wave of reactions, Yoruba actors strongly objected to the disrespect shown to the Glo ambassador by the ‘nobody’ Bobrisky. In fact one would have thought Friday, January 25, 2019 was the actor’s birthday as many posted his picture on their Instagram pages with strongly worded messages to  Bobrisky.

Actress, Motilola said, “If you keep quiet about this, we will all be here when he will come for our fathers.  I respect you and if anyone is brainless, it’s the one who doesn’t know his/her gender,”

Another actress, Ferrari Tonia Okoro didn’t hide her feelings either. Posting the picture of the actor she said, “Uncle Odun is highly respected in our world. He’s humble, jovial and respects himself. He is the Ijele of the Indiustry. You come for him, you come for us. @bobrisky222 you killed yourself coming for him. So, because you shake waist and cross dress gives you the visa to insult him? A maa ba tie je”.

Bobrisky has since taken down his post, probably after realising he has stepped on the toes of many of his fans but none of the Yoruba actors who responded have taken down their post.

FG is yet to address the 2009 agreement with ASUU_Ogunyemi

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday disclosed that the Federal Government is yet to address issues emanating from renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement in its new offer to the union.
It stated that government also failed to make fresh offer on funding for the revitalisation of public universities in Nigeria.

President of ASUU, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, stated this in Strike Bulletin nine sent to branches of the union.

He stated that although government has improved its earlier offers, there are still unresolved critical issues.

He asked members of the public to disregard misinformation being peddled through various media by agents of government and haters of the principle of ASUU, just as he enjoined members to remain committed in the struggle to revitalise the nation’s educational system.

Also, Federal University, Otuoke chapter of ASUU has thrown its weight behind the demotion of seven professors at the institution by the Gbemisola Saraki-led governing council.

In a communiqué signed by its Chairman, Dr. Joseph Omoro, and Secretary, Dr. John Kalama, after its emergency meeting, it said the demotion of the affected professors followed the extant rules governing the university.

At a media briefing in Yenagoa, the demoted professors led by Professor Steve Nwabuzor, Dr. Fellina Nwadike and Dr. Evans Ugboji-Eze, had accused the Vice Chancellor of chasing shadows.

They also accused the VC of tribalism and nepotism, adding that he was uncomfortable with the crop of senior academic and administrative staff his predecessor employed.

But the union argued that the governing council verified their case, took a decision at its 10th meeting and announced that based on lack of requisite scholarship, the seven dons were reclassified.

The affected professors are, Dr. Steve Nwabuzor, downgraded to Lecturer I; Dr. Leonard Shilgba, demoted from Professor to Senior Lecturer; Dr. Timothy Falade-Obalande, debased to Senior Lecturer and Dr. Felina Nwadike, from Associate Professor to Senior Lecturer.

Others are Dr. Sepribo Lawson-Jack, downgraded from Associate Professor to Lecturer I; Dr. Marcelina Offoha, from Associate Professor to Lecturer I; and Dr. Evans Eze, from Associate Professor to Lecturer II.

Nigeria power situation isn't funny_Alhaji Atiku Abubakar

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has said he is among those suffering from the power problem in the country.

Abubakar said as a businessman, he spent billions of Naira on diesel to generate power for his companies.

He stated this on Twitter while responding to questions from some of his followers.

A Twitter user @ofishea, had queried the former vice president about his alleged ownership of a generator company.

The user, in humour, had said Abubakar would not address the power supply problem in the country because of his business interest.

Responding on Twitter, the presidential candidate denied the allegations. He said, “My friend, I know you meant this as a joke, but the power situation in Nigeria is not funny.

“As a businessman, I don’t enjoy the billions I spend generating power with diesel.

“Power is a key focus area in #TheAtikuPlan. We will attract key investors to our power industry and ensure competitive pricing, especially for corporate and industrial end users,” he tweeted.

However, some readers wondered why Atiku did not do anything while serving with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

They asked what happened to the funds spent on improving power supply in the country.

National council of states finally approve #27,000 as the new minimum wage for workers on Tuesday 22 ,1, 2019

The NCS was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari and attended by Nigerian leaders including Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
Channels Television reports that with the approval, a minimum wage bill will be sent to the National Assembly on Wednesday, January 23.
The report, however, quoted the labour and employment minister, Chris Ngige, as saying the federal government will top the approved amount with N3,000 to 30,000 for its workers.
The minister said the 36 states have the freedom to decide what amount to augment the agreed minimum wage with.
The tripartite committee, chaired by a former head of service of the federation, Ama Pepple, on the review of the minimum wage had recommended N30,000.
The committee submitted the report to President Muhammadu Buhari on November 6, 2018, after many months of deliberations.
However, state governors insisted that it could only pay N22,500 as minimum wage.
News had earlier reported that while most of the governors said they could not pay the approved N30,000, a few of their counterparts like Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa promised to pay the amountto workers if the national minimum wage bill is passed into law.
Bindow spoke in Yola, when he addressed members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who were on a protest march to press for payment of the new minimum wage.
The governor, who received the labour leaders at the gate of the Government House, said that the welfare of civil servants had always been his concern. He praised labour unions for the support accorded to his administration.
The organised labour had also warned of tough times for governors who may not pay the new salary.
The secretary-general of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Bashir Lawal, restated the resolve of workers to tackle governors, who may show unwillingness to pay the new package.
It was also reported that the Nigeria government had promised it will take the issue of the new national minimum wage to the council of state for discussion on Tuesday, January 22.
The minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige, while speaking at the National Economic Council (NEC) in Abuja at the Presidential Villa made the announcement.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND ASUU RESUME TALK OVER STRIKE AGAIN.

Following the strike embarked upon on November 4 by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Federal Government of Nigeria, has again resumed negotiations with the union in a bid to bring an end to the strike.

Students of public universities have since the strike been at their homes, with their academic needs stalled as ASUU has maintained that the strike won’t be called off until its demands are met by the federal government.

At the meeting which began on Monday evening, at around 5pm, had in attendance, the minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige as well as a delegation of the striking lecturers.

Some of the conditions which ASUU has given the Federal government to call off the strike include that FG releases N50 billion to demonstrate its commitment to the revitalisation of the universities.

This is in following the MoU signed by both ASUU and FG in 2013 wherein the federal government agreed to pay the academic body N1.3 trillion as part of the funds for the revitalisation of the universities.

Although the MoU had stipulated that the payment be made in tranches of N200 billion in 2013; N220 billion 2014; N220 billion 2015; 220 billion in 2016; N220 billion in 2017 and N220 billion in 2018, only N200 billion was released in 2013.

Meanwhile, at the resumed meeting today, Dr. Ngige said the meeting is aimed at bringing the strike to a halt.

Also, the ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, said the union hoped the federal government would do the needful to resolve the strike.

ASUU:Lecturers gives new conditions.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said the only condition to suspend the ongoing nationwide strike is for the Federal Government to pay, at least, N50 billion Revitalisation Fund; out of one tranche of N220 billion.

ASUU national Chairman, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi spoke to newsmen in Ibadan, Oyo State on Sunday, ahead of the union’s scheduled meeting with the federal government on Monday.
ASUU said that the federal government must also present concrete evidence of implementation of the promised N20 billion Earned Academic Allowances (EAA) and how the balance of N85 billion would be paid; with timelines.
He pointed out that the union and government since the strike started, “have had seven meetings. We have been having promises. We have demanded that some of their promises, which we took back to our members, some items on their list, have been rejected.
“And, there have been demands for the review. We want them to pay, immediately, N50 billion as a sign of commitment this quarter and, for the next three quarters, the government can pay N50 billion each quarter.
“So, our members have rejected the N20 billion they proposed that will be spread over two quarters in 2019. Our members have insisted on the release of at least N50 billion.
“In relation to EAA, which they have an outstanding N105 billion, our members are saying even if you (government) are releasing N20 billion, let it be stated clearly that it is only for ASUU members and the balance which you promised to pay in four instalments, attach timelines to the balance and figures.
“In 2017, this government promised to mainstream the EAA into the budget so that we won’t be coming to talk about arrears. If government had put that into the 2018 budget, we would not be talking about arrears now.
“Our members are saying government should take steps, mainstream it into the 2019 budget and that is note late because they (National Assembly) are still working on the budget.”
He added, “We have gone beyond these promises. In fact, the first meeting we had, we were told that before the end of the week, the matter would be resolved. But, that was government speaking. After that first meeting, we have had some other six meetings, yet, we are still relating to promises.
“We don’t really take government’s promises seriously again because we have heard promises upon promises.
“What our members told us when we were starting this meeting, was, ‘come back with concrete evidence of implementation.’
“And, we have told them (government) in clear terms. By the way, let me also tell you that today, we are meeting again, and we are still hoping that concrete evidence on implementation will be put on the table.
“So, that is what our members have been talking about. The National Executive Council of ASUU is our principal, and, each time we engage government, we keep reminding them that our members said or our NEC said ‘don’t come back to us unless you have concrete evidence of implementation.’ So, on that, we

Cutest dog in the world dies of heart break after losing it's bestie.

The viral internet sensation named Boo,passed away in it's sleep on Friday , january.18,2019
Its devastated owners revealed that Boo started suffering from heart problems after its fellow canine friend, Buddy, died in 2017. Sharing its photos on its Instagram page, the owners announced its death and paid a tribute as they wrote, Dearest friends of Boo, With deepest sadness I wanted to share that Boo passed away in his sleep early this morning and has left us to join his best friend, Buddy. Our family is heartbroken, but we find comfort knowing that he is no longer in any pain or discomfort. We know that Buddy was the first to greet him on the other side of that rainbow bridge, and this is likely the most excited either of them have been in a long time. Since starting Boo’s FB page, I’ve received so many notes over the years from people sharing stories of how Boo brightened their days and helped bring a little light to their lives during difficult times. And that was really the purpose of all this…Boo brought joy to people all over the world. Boo is the happiest dog I’ve ever met. He was so easy going that we never had to bother with training. He made the manliest of men squeal with delight over his cuteness and made everyone laugh with his quirky, tail wagging personality. Over the years Boo met some super cool people, a lot of crazy talented people, but most of all so many kind people…friends who gave him endless love, people who prioritized his comfort over getting that perfect picture, partners who understood that Buddy ALWAYS had to be included, and last but definitely not least, the amazing doctors, therapists, and staff at Adobe Animal Hospital and Sage Veterinary Centers for the countless hours of care and dedication they poured into Buddy and Boo. I brought Boo home in the spring of 2006 and so started the greatest, most heartwarming friendship of all time. Shortly after Buddy died, Boo showed signs of heart issues. We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us. He hung on and gave us over a year. But it looks like it was his time, and I’m sure it was a most joyous moment for them when they saw each other in heaven. Boo, we love you with all our hearts and will miss you until the day we meet again. Have fun running around with Buddy and creating adorable mischief wherever you guys go. Thank you to all of you for following along on their silly adventures over the past 10 years. They sure had a LOT of fun. With love and our deepest gratitude, Boo’s humans
